Cornerstones of a Robust Recovery: Green, Resilient, and Inclusive Development

After a quarter century of progress, the World Bank estimates that global extreme poverty will rise in 2021 as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic. While the impact has fallen most heavily on the poor, extended lockdowns, disruptions in economic life and restrictions on movement have had affected broader segments of society. How should the world respond to this devastating set back? What are the essential requirements of an inclusive recovery that will ensure the poor, under-employer, those in informal services, and women are not left out?
