In 2020, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the U.S. celebrate 75 years as allies and economic partners in the Middle East. The mission at the embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United States is to assist in strengthening, deepening and broadening the historical and strategic relationship that began with the first meeting between a Saudi monarch and an American president when King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman met with President Franklin Roosevelt in 1945. The Kingdom remains one of America’s closest allies and strongest economic partners in the Middle East. This relationship is built on trust and mutual interests, including stability and peace, counterterrorism, trade and shared prosperity.
